Over the coming weeks, I will be offering tips, tricks and ideas on all kinds of fun planning strategies for different types of parties. This month we are going to talk about anniversaries.

Celebrating an anniversary is a fun time, so take the worry out of planning the perfect the party for your loved ones with these ideas and tips for a fabulous day
An anniversary signifies another year that your loved ones have been together. That is a special time. Here are some great ideas and tips to help you plan the perfect anniversary party for the honored couple.
Tip: It is a good idea to set a budget and split the cost of the party with siblings. With that being said, it is also important to remember that everyone should have some say in the party details. Remember this is a time of celebration, so there should be constructive ways to avoid arguments amongst the party planners.
Anniversary Party Invitations
With the software and printer capabilities that are available to us today, printing your own invitations is a popular choice among many people. Programs such as Microsoft Publisher, Print Workshop, and others make it so easy to create professional looking invitations. Office supply stores have a wide range of papers to choose from, as well. You can even take a picture of the honored couple and scan it in your computer to put on the invitations. If you are not computer savvy, pass this duty on to someone else in the family who is.

Party Supplies and Decorations
Discount party places usually always have good deals on anniversary party supplies and decorations. Some simple, but elegant ideas might include: Helium balloons weighted down with candy as table centerpieces. Seating cards placed on each table. This way there will be lots of conversation and fun to be had. Sign-in book to give to the couple. Linen tablecloths. Confetti or glitter scattered on tablecloths
Special Touches
Adding a special touch to an anniversary party can make it a long-lasting memory for the honored couple. Consider some of the following ideas:
Create a video of their life together. Get siblings to send in several pictures of their families and any old pictures they might have of their parents. If someone in the family can make the video from their home, that would be great. If not, call around and have a videographer do it for you.
Make posters from old photographs of the honored couple to hang on walls.
Create a scrapbook of pictures and momentums for the honored couple to keep. Include pictures of them from as far back as possible and go all the way through grandchildren. Family members can donate pictures for the scrapbook. You can make copies of the scrapbook, if you want each sibling to have a copy.
Anniversary Gift Ideas

Anniversary Party Entertainment
Hiring a DJ can be pretty inexpensive considering all the fun the guests can have. Perhaps you can get some recommendations from friends and family who have had success with a particular person or company in the past. This is also a good route because you want to enjoy the party, too, and not have to worry about changing CDs or tapes during the party.
Karaoke is lots of fun and there are lots of ways to use it enhance the party…and if the karaoke DJ has a large variety of songs then everyone can get a chance to warble for the honored couple.
Bands, such as an Elvis impersontator, will be more expensive, but if they play the kind of music that the honored couple likes, and it fits within your budget, this could be the way to go also.
GIFT IDEAS
Keep in mind that these are just ideas. They are just suggestions to make it easier to choose a gift. If you decide to give an anniversary gift that doesn’t fit the list… that’s fine. The only way to really go wrong with a wedding anniversary gift is…to not give one at all!
